Instagram has a young demographic with a large percentage of users in the 18-34 year old range, and you’re thinking that your financial business has no place on that social platform. Wrong! Don’t discredit Instagram if the audience isn’t who you typically target since the demographics will continue to diversify the longer Instagram is around.
Why do I predict this? This is exactly what happened with Instagram’s parent company – Facebook! At first, Facebook was dedicated to college students, but as the platform expanded, so did the demographics until now everyone is aware of and has used Facebook. Instagram will end up the same way the more brands come to understand how it works and the older generations catch up to the younger ones.
If your financial services are focused more on business consulting, you absolutely should be on instagram. Several business-to-business companies have already ruled Instagram out as an unusable platform for their business. obviously, they don’t realize the perks of using instagram for local business promotion. Their mindset is that if they don’t sell food, beer, or clothing; their products are either unattractive or intangible so why would they use a photo-sharing application? However, this means that your business will have less competition on the platform, and as people continue to share your content, your brand gains recognition!
There’s a lot you can do on Instagram to make your photos look professional quality with a few filters and you can use it to show another side of your finance business. You can track the performance of your content and stay on-top of changes, and as long as you interact, you should steadily build a strong following.
This episode of the thinkdesign podcast shares tips on how you can use Instagram, relate to the demographic, and increase your brand’s visibility.
